Some random thoughts while thinking, “Whatever happened to Anthony Tramontana?”
BIG PAYDAY FOR GODOWN
Winning a track championship can be lucrative. By winning the 2015 358 Modified title at New Egypt Speedway, Ryan Godown will be awarded a $10,000 check at the season ending banquet. The driver from Ringoes, NJ clinched the title by winning Saturday’s feature event. Godown started thirteenth in the thirty lap double point finale and took the lead from John Pakenham on lap twenty-three.
WILLIAMS PLANNING CENTRAL NY INVASION
While he won’t be competing on the Moody Mile for one final time, Neal Williams will be making the trek to Central New York to compete in several of the 358 races occurring during Super Dirt Week. In 2015, Williams has had a strong second half at New Egypt Speedway. Williams credits his success to better shock setups on his car.
NEW TEO FOR HORTON
After getting a Teo Pro chassis for himself, Lou Cicconi purchased another Teo Pro chassis for his teammate, Jimmy Horton. Horton debuted his new ride this past Saturday. In warm-ups, the rear hub broke and forced the Neshanic Station driver to miss his heat race. Starting twenty-third in the thirty lap feature, Horton sliced his way through the field and completed the event in fifth place.
PHONE CALL HELPS DAVIS
Sportsman driver Steve Davis was feeling uncomfortable with his Hig Fab chassis. A recent conversation with Jerry Higbie, the owner of Hig Fab, uncovered some issues and gave Davis some pointers. The new setup worked quite well as Davis recorded his first Sportsman win at New Egypt Speedway on Saturday. Davis is hoping the success continues as he plans to race at Grandview Speedway on Friday for the thirty-eight lap ROC Sportsman event.
